Foro Marítimo Vasco promoted the Conference "European Consortia Incorporation in the Maritime Sector: Consortex project"


On the 21st of November, a dissemination event of CONSORTEX project was held at Ría de Bilbao Maritime Museum (Bilbao, Spain). The attendees were received with a welcome coffee and the event was inaugurated by the General Manager of Foro Marítimo Vasco, Javier López de Lacalle, who spoke on the European Strategy of Atlantic Area, of which initiatives as this project are part.
 
Víctor Lejarreta, Project Coordinator, made a presentation explaining CONSORTEX objectives, philosophy, the progress that has been made since its design and start, and the methodology of consortia incorporation that will be used in next future.
 
Later, Peter Green, General Manager of National Maritime and member of the CONSORTEX Partnership, made a presentation of the first results of Work Package 6 he leads, related to business opportunities in the global market for the possible consortia to be started up. Although the perspective of his marketing research has been global, in the presentation he made special mention of the cases of Brazil and South Korea.
 
Finally, Javier López de Lacalle closed the event making the conclusions of the conference and encouraging present entrepreneurs who have not yet joined the initiative to get involve in it, putting at their disposal all the human and material resources of Foro Marítimo Vasco.
 
Afterwards, present attendees enjoyed a lunch and had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the permanent exhibition of Ría de Bilbao Maritime Museum and its riverbank carpentry workshop.
