CONSORTEX project in the World Maritime Week
Foro Marítimo Vasco has participated with an own stand in the World Maritime Week organized by Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC) from 12 to 14 of February. The CONSORTEX project basque team has been present and has taken the advantage to disseminate it among the nearly 2,000 assistants who have visited the fair.
The exhibition area has hosted a hundred companies that have shown visitors the latest developments in the sector of the Blue Economy, an industry that, according to the latest report of the European Union, accredits a turnover of 566,000 million euros, it generates 174 million euros of added value and creates jobs for almost 3.5 million people.
The World Maritime Week has included four congresses: SINAVAL (international shipbuilding), Future Port Bilbao, Eurofishing and Marine Energy Week. In all of them, leading experts in each of the subjects have presented papers and debated issues of great interest to the sector.
The event was accompanied by B2B meetings, which have been a necessary business space for prescribers and suppliers to exchange information. The thirty five international buyers invited this year have arrived with a full of meetings with exhibiting companies agenda. In total, 458 meetings have been held in what is, without a doubt, one of the strategic elements of World Maritime Week. The B2B programmme has gathered at BEC representatives from other countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Germany, Greece, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Iran, France, Belgium, Egypt and Morocco.
