CONSORTEX promoted a virtual session on how to create an Export Consortia
The report on "Suitable Legal Forms to Create Export Consortia" was presented on the 24th of September 2020, during a virtual session. The webinar counted on with the participation of eleven companies involved in the process of building in an Export Consortia, namely, SKV, Sofresid, McDuff Ship Design, Cintranaval/Defcar, FläktGroup, Meunier, Industrias Ferri, Veranavis, Almadesign, Lisnave y ABB. Also, many staff members of CONSORTEX partnership were present.
The report on "Suitable Legal Forms to Create Export Consortia" is one of the deliverables of the work package 7 “Export Consortia Incorporation” and is the beginning of the legal support to companies involved in the project.
The CONSORTEX have had access to the document since July 2020 and the main aim of the event was to keep the companies involved in the project duly informed.
The report was presented by Irache Gomez, the lawyer who conducted it. She is Partner Lawyer and manager of the Transport, Logistics & Trade Department in AUREN SPAIN. Dual bachelor in Law and Economics, Master of Law and Business, and Diploma in International Trade and Business. She is specialised in Corporate and International Commercial & Trade Law, Maritime and Transportation Law, including shipbuilding and ship finance and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Irache Gomez explained the advantages of export consortia and the different types depending on the interests of the participant companies. The expert also explained the legal forms to constitute this kind of firms groups, as the limited companies, the Economic Interesting Groupings and the contract-based export consortia. To conclude, Irache Gomez spoke about the importance of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a first step to incorporate the consortia.
